Achenseebahn 4

No 4
A very special grouping outside the Achenseebahn coach shed at Jenbach, with Gaisbergbahn coach number 6, now only used on special occasions. Built in 1887, it is seen beside Achenseebahn number 4, which despite appearances is one of the newest locomotives in the world. Built to the same design as the original 1889 locomotives, and using drawings produced by the line's General Manager, number 4 gives the Achenseebahn more flexibility - as well as a unique new possession. The Achensee engines are themselves based upon the design by WLF for the Gaisbergbahn.
The picture has been kindly donated from his personal collection by Achenseebahn General Manager Dir. Ing Bernhard Marchi.
