Bad Heidrechstein

Description of layout
(may be used in programme and publicity if desired)

Bad Heidrechstein is Hoe Austrian narrow gauge layout about 7’6"’ x 20". The small Austrian spa town of Bad Heidrechstein enjoys visitors in both summer, for the scenery and walking holiday, and in winter for ski-ing, as a results the narrow gauge line has prospered and offers both steam and diesel operation.

The local inn always seems to be busy with customers enjoying the Bavarian band and a good selection of food and drink!

The processing plant (believed to be antifreeze) ensures that commercial traffic is also an important part of the lines activity; trains of bogie tank wagons can often be seen shunting.

Whilst the layout is freelance it, hopefully, captures the clean unhurried Austrian atmosphere.

The layout uses a range of proprietary rolling stock from diesel onto ready to run chassis units. Buildings are mainly from the Aughagen/Faller catalogues, repainted and adapted to suit location.
