Austria lies at the centre of Europe and has its own railway manufacturers. This section shows some of the very foreign stock that passes through.

A new multiple unit, on delivery to Greece, stops over in Schwarzach St. Veit, 2 July 2004

A popular route for ex German locos from Eastern Europe is by barge on the Danube to Linz and transfer to rail there. This was the method that brought Bulgarian BR42 to Amplfwang where it stood in september 2000

the same route drought Prussian P8 from Romania to Linz and to Amplfwang where it remained in Sseptember 2000. CFR 230 184

Brenner & Brenner imported and run this ex PKP Pt47 138 and it featured in some films. Seen inside Landeck depot 12 April 1995. It runs now on occasional specials.
