WurzeralmSpital am Phyrn, OberösterreichThe Wurzeralm, owned and operated by Hinterstoder-Wurzeralm Bergbahnen AG, was opened to the public on 15 July 1978. The talstation (base station), called Phyrnpassbundesstraße, is 804 metres above sea level, and the line climbs 622 metres to the Bergstation, Wurzeralm, in a total line length of 2,937 metres. The average gradient on the route is 30%, and the two cars, each capable of carrying 150 passengers, have a top speed of 14 metres / second. The line is open for most of the year, with only maintenance breaks after the end of the skiing season, and at the end of the walking season. However, the service is restricted in May and October. The nearest ÖBB station is Spital am Phyrn on the line between Linz and Selzthal, the Pyrhnbahn The talstation is out of the town, towards Liezen. Bus 911 serves the talstation in summer, whilst the ski-bus does the same in winter. |
