In the1990s this Italian company merged with others to form the Arnold/Lima/Jouef group, but trading difficulties continued and in 2003 the combined company was liquidated. In 2004 Hornby acquired some of the Lima assets with a view to continuing production of European models in China. For news of progress there was, at 19 January 2005. a Hornby press release.

Before their demise Lima was progressively improving the quality of the range of HO models. They attempted to serve most European markets, offering several models not produced by their competitors. For Austria the range included:

• Electric: ÖBB Cl 1042, 1043, 1245, 4010 emu
• Diesel: ÖBB Cl 2043, 2050, 2061, 2065, 2067

Lima also produced a few models of Austrian coaches (including some excellent era 3 examples) and goods wagons.
