GySEV s currently (January 2005) have 5 Taurus locomotives designated class 1047 :

When Hungarian State Railways (MAV) ordered ten class 1116-type locomotives from Siemens Krauss-Maffei in September 2001, the international railway GySEV also ordered five identical machines, also fitted with the Hungarian EVM120 automatic train protection system as well as the Austrian Indusi system.

1047 501-0 and 1047 502-8. The first loco was delivered to GySEV on 23 Apr 2002, and went straight into service. As delivered, the loco was painted in lime green and yellow GySEV colours, with the numbers on the end in blue at the right hand side. The GySEV name was fixed with the “E” over the door, and the RoeEE on the right side of the logo, which was placed on an angled green panel in the centre of the body side. In June 2002 the numbers on the end were replaced by yellow numbers, and were centred in the green section on the ends. 1047 502-8 followed on 11 July 2002, with the numbers already centred and in yellow. The GySEV name was placed to the left of the door on each side. Both these locos were delivered with “Siemens Krauss Maffei” perforated into the frame above the right buffer.

On 25 Oct 2004 1047 502-8 was in collision with a truck at Mödling in Austria whilst working a freight train. The train carried the truck over 200 metres down the route, and came to rest straddling both lines. Damage to the front and frames was extensive, and the loco has been withdrawn.
