Mariazellerbahn
Motive Power

ARG members provide a selection of motive power in use on the line. As recently as summer 2005, it was possible to see restored steam, diesel locomotives and railcars and the narrow gauge electrics of class 1099 along with the modern EMUs. Club Mh6 in conjunction with OBB even operates the three classes of diesel shunters on special days.

Visitors looking for motive power on the Mariazellerbahn will find most of it congregating in the Alpenbahnhof depot just acrss the track from the station of the same name, Facilities there allow the transfer of NG to SG as well as the storage and servicing of rolling stock and locmotives. For heavier overhaul, the HW st Pölten is just next door.
