Facing east-west on a north-south line, station is in a side valley used by the railway to gain height.
There is a large goods transfer and customs yard to the west beside the border

Vantage Points :

The southern platform, from where trains can be seen coming from Innsbruck, through the station, then through a curving tunnel and through a 180-degree bend, repassing the station going the other way.
