this section attempts top show the types of motive power actually in use on the Arlberg route during the period 1980 to 2005, and preserved example of earlier motive power.
Class 1020 the OBB class 1020, (DRB BR E94) were based at either end of the one, and operated on freight and paseenger services. As they were replaced by 1042 and 1044s they themselves took on pilot and banking duties. In the end they were redu ed to tran heating duries, which they still (2004) carry out at Bregenz, and erlebneis trains over the Arlberg.
