The line follows the river from Schwarzenau to Zwettl, then climbs amidst rolling hills to Martinsberg. Considerable freight mostly timber is moved on all sections while passenger services (in 2007) reached as far as Zwettl Stadt.

	Schwarzenau A multi track station with two through platforms on an island, and two bay platforms. There are four freight loops, a two track PW depot and several sidings. The station is the terminus for services to Waidhofen a d Thaya and Zwettl, with through services between Gmund NO and Wien FJB. There is a small Eisenbahn museum.
	Ganz Single track halt with wooden shelter. 1 km from B36 through forest and 1 km west of village.
	Bernschlag Double track loop with small wooden shelter by level crossing. Large timber business operates in station yard.
	Hormanns Single track halt with concrete shelter. Visible from the B36.
	Gross Globnitz Single track halt with station building (now a house). Evidence of former loop arrangement with a loading ramp without track!. 100m from the B36. Dampf Miniaturbahn signed 1 km from B36 between here and Gross Haslau.

	Gerotten Single track halt with wooden shelter. 100m from the B36.
	Zwettl A three track loop station with large station building set back. A depot with three outside tracks is now used by a preservation group (Martinsberg Lokalbahn Verein). Significant timber and oil handling facilities. Set on the edge of a viaduct linking to across the river.
	Zwettl Stadt A single track, single platform station with shelter. A siding opposite the platform leads directly into factory premises. This is the terminus (2006) of the service from Schwarzenau. Formerly known as Hst Syrnau
	Kleinschonau Conventional three track loops, with the westmost loop used to service Waldviertel GesbR,a recycling company. A small disused shelter is by the level crossing at the Zwettl end.
	Waldhausen Traditional three track loop with headshunt used for stone unloading. Conventional station building all east of level crossing at west of village. A further three loop tracks provide extensive timber handling facilities on the opposite side of the level crossing.
	Kleinweissenbach Single track halt with wooden shelter (closed in 2006). East of village by level crossing.
	Kaltenbrunn Single track halt with wooden shelter and platform. (closed in 2006). South of village by level crossing.
	Grafenschlag A typical three track loop with station building and goods shed by the level crossing. Busy freight traffic to local merchant in yard.
	Langschlag Single track halt with wooden shelter (closed in 2006). West of village by level crossing.
	Biberschlag Single track halt with wooden shelter (closed in 2006). east of village in forest by level crossing.
	Neuhof Traditional three track loop with disused station building and goods shed. Some vintage stock was stored during 2006 by the Lokalbahn.
	Kleinpertholz Single track halt with wooden shelter (closed in 2006). North of village by level crossing close to B36.
	Martinsberg A typical three track loop, station with head shunt and a small disused depot building. There is a station building, goods shed and lagerhaus. This is the end of the branch.
