Steirmarkische Landesbahn : Murtalbahn Bummelzug

In the summer of 2005, while researching for the ARG Murtalbahn Booklet we followed their weekly steam hauled Bummelzug from its set-up at Murau Stazalpe where it arrived after a short test run. Watch it prepare for its special, as VL12 marshalls all the elderly coaches, and then follow the clouds of smoke and steam to Tamsweg.

This page shows a range of pictures all of which can be enlarged (double click on image, then double click on icon in bottom right for big screen shots), and links to the video (view it full screen). The video has been edited for viewing with Windows Media Player and may be available later in other formats.
Please note that some video clips slightly exceed 1 Mb and may take a moment or two to load.
We made the trip to help with the ARG bopoklet. Get your copy to learn more about the trip.
